“Work in Progress” is a group of artists (musicians, actors and singers). It was borned in 2006 within the cultural association “Accademia del Chiostro” in occasion of an exibition of Marcel Duchamp’s works held in the Contemporary Arts Museum of Genoa, Italy, Villa Croce. As the words “Work in Progress” mean, some real works are in progress by all members of this group. The main purpose of the group is the study and the research on modern and contemporary arts such as music, letterature, poetry and all figurative forms of arts. Work in Progress considers all works of any time as living works, which are never the same, which live and change all the time. Work in Progress refuses the idea of evolution in art. In fact, the performances of first gregorian sequentiae of VIth century A.C. had on the first listeners, probably the same shocking and revolutionary effect of the J.S. Bach’s concerts or of the J. Cage’s Variations at their respective times. This paradigm is always present at the moment in which Work in Progress performs, or better makes living any artistic product. The main performers of Work in Progress are the following artists: Donatella Ferraris (cellist, composer), Fernando Arena (violin player), Massimo Vivaldi (violin and alto player and composer), Michele Altieri (keyboards player, composer and author of texts), Daniela Piccini (singer), Lisa Galantini (actress and producer), Luigi Marangoni (actor and producer).
